As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen library services across campus and make the best use of shared spaces, performing arts library resources have transitioned from Arnhold Hall to new locations as of January 2026.
The Performing Arts Library, formerly located on the second and ninth floors of Arnhold Hall, is now integrated into The New School’s broader library system rather than operating as a separate branch. All performing arts materials, expertise, and research support remain fully available to the community, alongside the full range of services offered by The New School Libraries.
Access Information
The Reading Room remains open in alignment with Arnhold Hall building hours, and the book drop is still located at the building entrance (please return LibCabinet materials to LibCabinets).
Performing arts materials are now distributed across library locations: ML and MT call numbers are available at the University Center Library and offsite, and GV call numbers are available at the List Center Library and offsite. Scores may be requested from offsite--or check out our online databases (sort by subject or type, e.g., "Scores")--and all requested items can be picked up at the University Center or List Library. Performing Arts materials are on reserve at the University Center unless otherwise requested by faculty.
