Please view each Consortium library's website in order to find access information such as hours of operation and registration or appointment requirements.
Consortium library holdings can be located using the library catalog.
Unfortunately, continuing education students and alumni do not have access to the library consortium. Please email libhelp@newschool.edu or ask a librarian for suggested alternatives.
NYU Bobst Library is the largest consortium library. New School visitors may borrow items, use the guest WiFi network, and access electronic books, journals, and databases on-site (with the exception of most business databases).
Items borrowed from a partner library can be returned to any other partner library location. NYU materials can be requested via our library catalog.
Check our FAQ for the latest changes to access procedures for NYU Bobst Library.
Visitors from The New School will need to show their current New School ID and proof of vaccination and booster. They will sign in at the security desk and be required to wear an authorized mask at all times.
When you arrive at the building, display your current New School ID and The New School “Campus Access Granted” green screen from the SHS Portal on your phone to Cooper Union security. Be sure to check your clearance ahead of time.
Starting November 1st, NYSID will no longer require visitors and consortium users to submit their proofs of vaccination prior to their visits. They can come and use the NYSID Library without appointment. Moreover, masks are no longer required. Library hours for fall term are Monday-Thursday, 9am-9pm and Friday, 9am-5pm only.
Anyone who lives, works, or attends school in New York State may apply for a New York Public Library card. Anyone, with or without a library card, may visit any New York Public Library location, browse onsite collections, and access electronic resources.
