Lost Item Blocks
Regular Loans, EZ-Borrow, Recorded Music, and Inter-Library Loan items are considered “Lost” if they are 28 days overdue. If an item is considered “Lost” on your account, a $125 fine will be added to your account and you will be blocked from loaning new materials, renewing materials, and from requesting materials. Fines and blocks are removed once a “Lost” item is returned to the Library.
If you have questions or concerns regarding any fines or blocks on your account, please contact us at libhelp@newschool.edu so we may assist you.
Holds & Recalls
Holds
Materials can be put on hold online from your library account.
Recalls
All library materials except reserve materials are subject to recall, which will shorten the loan period to no less than 2 weeks. Recalled materials must be returned by the new due date or a $1 per day fine will be assessed.
Proxy Borrowing
Faculty members may designate student assistants to borrow library books on their behalf by submitting a Proxy Borrower Form.
