To check out an onsite, circulating book or score from any of our library locations, bring it to the information desk or self-checkout machine with your ID card. To check out an onsite DVD, please request it at the information desk at the Performing Arts Library.

To request items to have them delivered to and held for you at a library information desk (turnaround time 2-5 days):
- Search for the item in the library catalog on the library website. Look for items that are "Available in your library." Use the menu to refine results.
- Login to the library catalog using your NetID and password, the same credentials you use to sign into MyNewSchool. Click on and expand the New School item listing to view the "Pick Up Item" button. Select a pickup location, then "Send Request."
- You will receive an email notification when the item is ready. You will have 10 days to pick up the item and check it out with your New School ID card.
To request items from our offsite facility (turnaround time 2-5 days):
- Follow steps (1-3) above. Please note that you will need to click on "New School Offsite" to view the "Pick Up Item" link.
If a book is not currently in The New School library collections, you can request delivery of the book to The New School with "Request from Partner Libraries." Please see this FAQ to learn more.
