Scope and Content of Collection

The collection consists of ten 18 x 24 inch fashion illustrations Apple made in 1961, while a student at Parsons School of Design. Five illustrations are mixed media (watercolor, oil pastel, and gouache) on paper. The other five are in charcoal. Apple was enrolled in Parsons’ Fashion Illustration program before transferring to the Graphic Design program in her second year. These drawings are most likely from a fashion illustration course she took her first year at Parsons with Irene S. Frangides.
