All New School University faculty have access to the Visual Resource Collection.  Student use is limited to graduate and seniors giving class presentations, by arrangement with the instructor and slide collection staff. 

Slides may be reserved up to one week prior to a lecture.   All patrons must fill out a collection loan form indicating slides borrowed and date and time of presentation.  The borrowing procedures are defined on the back of the loan form.

Faculty should arrange for projection equipment delivery through Audio-Visual Services. Be advised that reservations should be made at least 1 week in advance and require a New School e-mail account.

Library Electronic Resources are available through the University Library Website or through New School Online University.

Faculty and students are also encouraged to view the Image/Visual Resource QuickStart Guide. Images within these databases are available for download and use within presentations. Be advised that images and media within these databases are available for educational use only.

In July 2004, New School Libraries began working with LUNA Insight to begin offering its visual assets throughout campus at very high resolutions (higher than the subscription databases mentioned above). Insight software also provides tools to create dynamic visual presentations, including text annotations and web links. All images are scalable, printable and exportable.

This resource offers on-line access to over 170,000 high resolution digital images. Major works of art, architecture, design and cartography are represented.

The New School Library Digital Media Collection is accessible on the New School University network through the LUNA Imaging software, Luna Insight. All computer labs and the University Library computers provide access to this software.

In order to download software or tutorials off-campus, patrons must provide a valid New School University Email account and password through the links provided below or authenticate through the University Portal.
