The Archives of Individuals and Organizations consist of personal and professional papers, and work in art and design, by past and current members of the New School community, as well as primary source materials related to disciplines taught and studied at The New School.
The Kellen Design Archives
The Kellen Design Archives is home to primary source materials in the fields of design, design studies, and design history, with special strengths in 20th century American fashion, interior, and graphic design, environmental design, illustration, photography, product design. and design education.
Highlights of the Mannes Archives include autographed letters by composers Felix Mendelssohn and Claude Debussy, unpublished compositions and scores, photographs documenting the early history of opera in New York City, and materials related to the Damrosch/Mannes families, who were pioneers in establishing New York City as an important center for the study and performance of classical music.
New School Archives
The New School Archives consist of the personal and professional papers of former and present members of the New School community.
