Biographical note
Daniel Lashen attended Parsons School of Design (now, Parsons The New School for Design) from 1947 to 1950. He received a certificate in Interior Design in 1950. He went on to study at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, which awarded him a B.A. in 1954.
Scope and Contents note
The collection consists entirely of renderings made by Daniel Lashen while he was a student in the Interior Design Department at Parsons between 1947 and 1950. The renderings from Lashen's third year include sketchbooks from his time studying in Italy and Paris.

The Kellen Design Archives holds the student work of Sunbeam Randall (KA.0062), a student in the Interior Design department who traveled to Europe with Lashen's class. A travel scrapbook in the Randall collection features a photograph of Randall and Lashen sitting together. Additionally, the papers of Stanley Barrows (KA.0002), one of Lashen's instructors and the leader of his European tour, are held by the Kellen Design Archives.
