School Staff Members |
New School staff are entitled to reading and borrowing privileges at the New School Libraries as long as they have a current valid University I.D. card. New School staff members are entitled to borrowing privileges at New School Libraries only.
|
| New School Alumni |
All graduates of The New
School's eight schools are eligible for a "university
card," which provides access to and
reading privileges at the three campus libraries.
Cards are normally sent once per year (usually
in September) to all alumni in the tri-state
area.
Please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@newschool.edu or 212.229.5662 x3557 to update your information. If you have misplaced your card or live outside of the NYC area and would like a card, contact the alumni office with your request.
Alumni annual fund donors of $100 or more are entitled to borrowing privileges within the calendar year of your donation.
Contact alumni@newschool.edu or
212.229.5662 x3784 for more information.
University cards issued to alumni are only valid at the New School Libraries.

| Non-New School or Consortium Affiliates |
As part of reciprocal arrangements, students and faculty of the New York School of Interior Design have borrowing privileges at the Gimbel Library; students and faculty of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University) have reading privileges at all New School Libraries.
The New School Libraries are also open to qualified researchers who have been issued a yellow METRO (Metropolitan New York Library Council) referral card for specific items not available at one’s home institution or at the public library (including the New York Public Research Library). Patrons should consult with a local or public librarian to determine if the Fogelman Library, Gimbel Design Library or Scherman Music Library is the appropriate library for such a referral and will need to make an appointment.
Questions about access to individual libraries can also be directed to individual library directors or the Office of the University Librarian.
